How to Create a More Independent Lifestyle for Your Cat at Home

While, keeping a pet is one heck of trouble, and when it is a cat, then it becomes even more daunting since these animal types have an uncanny ability to create absolute mayhem anywhere. Here, in this post, we’ve rounded up many ways to give independence in your home, without creating big headaches for yourself.

Toys

Most cats love their toys; when you give them some of them, they won’t get idle to create mischief in the home. There are so many interactive toys that will keep your mind occupied. While looking for innovative toys for pets, don’t forget the ones having catnip in them. Be it the stuffed toys, fragrant herb or catnip, you must select a toy for your cat that your pet loves to play all day long.

Window Room

Irrespective of the size of the room, if you want to keep your kitty happy, then you need to make sure the place where your cat is playing or stays has a large window so your pet can enjoy the beautiful outside weather, this will keep them excited. Ensure that the room has a comfortable viewing, without any risk. However, if the view of the window showcases all animals roaming freely in the streets, your pet may become aggressive, and might attack the occupant of the family. In case the window isn’t working, then an LED screen isn’t a bad option. Also, add music and large pictures to keep your pet energised throughout the day.

Go green

Another effective way to keep your cat inside the house is by making the space, means, add plants to your pet’s room. You can speak to your veterinarian; they’ll provide you with the best advice when it comes to the right plants, and stay clear of ones to which your pet is allergic. However, make sure the plants are out of reach of your pet; otherwise your troublemaker cat will cause damage. It is best advised to hang the plants in the room, and often wipe out the dust and dirt from pots, as most cats are allergic to it.

Cat flap installation

One of the best ways to give more independence to your cat is with the cat flap installation. It will prevent your pet from running from one room to another, causing troublemakers when you are not at home. It allows smooth movement of the cat throughout the house, without getting into the eyes of guests. Furthermore, the cat flap installation provides excellent safety to your cat, in case anything bad is something outside.
